Simons Foundation

I have designed a package of strategic support for the foundation’s grantee portfolio. This includes co-directing the Sandbox Fellowship for ambitious STEM nonprofit leaders. Additionally, I support grantees BEAM and STEM from Dance with their growth strategy.

Josh Babarinde MP

Having first met Josh in 2014 when he applied to become a Year Here Fellow, I have been his mentor, advisor and collaborator for over a decade. Since he won election to Parliament in July 2024, I have acted as a pro-bono advisor for his justice brief.

Specialisms

  • While CEO of Year Here, I birthed dozens of social ventures. As an independent consultant, I helped launch of the Quality of Life Foundation, founded by British architect Sadie Morgan OBE, and designed a new mechanism to invest in ideas to radically reshape public services: Impossible Ideas Inc.

  • I facilitated strategy development for GivingTuesday, the global generosity movement that catalyses giving of over $3bn per year. I also scoped scaling strategies for BioBus, BEAM and STEM from Dance, non-profits focussed on supporting students who are excluded from the STEM community.

  • I designed the first curriculum for Public Practice, a program for architects and designers working for the public good.

    I have designed and delivered hundreds of workshops and retreats—such as for social entrepreneurs supported by The Qatar Foundation and the Simons Foundation.

  • I led campaigns on climate justice and political power-building for A—B Partners, a Black-led strategic communications agency, including the branding of the Multitudes Foundation, a Europe-wide fund aiming to reimagine politics. I also work with Josh Babarinde MP on campaigns to better respect and protect survivors of abuse.
